On May 17, 2001, by order of Rector A.P. Popov of the V.R. Filippov Buryat State Agricultural Academy, the Agrotechnical College was established as a structural unit of the academy. The college was created to address the growing need for specialists with specialized secondary education in the republic.

In its first year of operation, the college enrolled 79 students. Initially, it offered four main specialized secondary education programs:

  • Legal Studies
  • Economics and Accounting
  • Land Management
  • Public and Municipal Administration

In 2010, responding to the growing demand for tourism professionals in the Republic of Buryatia, the college introduced a new specialty: Tourism.

A significant milestone was reached in 2010 when the Ministry of Agriculture allocated 70 state-funded spots for the first time for the specialties of Tourism, Land Management, and Economics and Accounting.

While initially attracting graduates primarily from the Republic of Buryatia, Zabaykalsky Krai, and Irkutsk Oblast, the college expanded its reach starting in 2011, welcoming its first applicants from the Republic of Tyva.

Further advancing its development, the college began enrolling international students from Mongolia in 2015, marking a step forward in international cooperation. Currently, 17 Mongolian citizens are pursuing various specialties at the college.

Throughout its history, the college has graduated over 3,000 specialists across its various programs.

Today, the Agrotechnical College offers specialized secondary education in the following fields:

  • Agronomy
  • Veterinary Science
  • Animal Science
  • Land Management
  • Agricultural Mechanization
  • Tourism
  • Economics and Accounting

The college's educational process is delivered by the Academy's professors and instructors, including Doctors and Candidates of Sciences. Our modern technical facilities and strong material resources create optimal conditions for profound theoretical knowledge and practical skills development.
