What is a Student Labor Corps?

This is a question asked by most first-year students every year, often with a sense of apprehension. Many mistakenly believe that the Student Labor Corps is just another boring, compulsory duty—a holdover from what they perceive as the equally dull Soviet era.

In reality, a "Stroyotryad," or as it is now officially known, a Student Labor Corps, is a voluntary association of students. Its primary goals are to provide exposure to their future professions through practical work experience and—what is always relevant for students—a great opportunity to earn money.

The value of working in the Student Labor Corps for BSAA students lies in:

  • Adapting to the modern realities of professional work environments.
  • Developing initiative, self-reliance, and organizational and business skills.
  • Fostering spiritual and moral ideals.
  • Furthermore, beyond its core objectives, the Student Labor Corps also gives students a powerful incentive for their future studies. When encountering a gap in their knowledge during a work assignment, students are much more motivated to learn that material effectively, understanding its direct necessity
