Year of establishment: 1959. Awarded the honorary title "People's Ensemble" in 1968.

The ensemble's repertoire features Buryat and Mongolian folk-stage dances, as well as dances from around the world, while its vocal group performs both traditional Buryat folk songs and original compositions. The ensemble has enjoyed an extensive international touring history, with performances in Poland, Bulgaria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Romania, Mongolia, France, Italy, South Korea, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, and others, including specific tours to France and Italy in 2012, Spain in 2014, France and Spain in 2016, and Belgium, the Netherlands, and France in 2017.

The ensemble participated in the 2nd Decade of Literature and Art in Moscow in 1959, was a laureate of the Lenin Komsomol Prize, and represented the Republic of Buryatia at the 850th-anniversary celebrations of Moscow. It also took part in the grand finale of the "Talents of Russia for the Defenders of the Fatherland" festival and the 4th General Session of the World Mongol Convention.

More recently, the ensemble earned laureate status at the "Men of Buryatia Sing" competition in Ulan-Ude (2020) and the V.V. Abgaldayeva Interregional Folk Dance Competition "Flower of Baikal-2022". It won first and second prizes in the dance category at the 9th Open Student Creativity Festival of Russian Ministry of Agriculture universities, "Spring in the Central Black Earth Region-2022," held in Oryol.

At the international student festival of folk art "Multifaceted Russia-2022," the ensemble was awarded the First Degree Laureate in the "National Choreography" category. It also received a special diploma "For the Best Embodiment of Folklore Tradition in Dance" in the same category and was a winner in the "Vocal" nomination.
