The history of international cooperation at Buryat State Agricultural Academy is deeply intertwined with the history of the Republic of Buryatia and Russia itself. This collaboration is marked by significant milestones driven by bilateral international agreements, which have directly fostered partnerships between universities.
1. Long-standing Strategic Partnerships
Mongolia: The close ties with the Mongolian State University of Agriculture date back to the 1960s. This enduring partnership has included joint research, faculty exchange, education of Mongolian students, and shared sports and cultural programs. It has since expanded to include postgraduate training, joint participation in dissertation committees, international research programs, and language training.
China: Cooperation with China is multifaceted, ranging from teaching Russian to Chinese citizens to developing joint educational programs. Strong links have been established with universities such as Inner Mongolia Agricultural University (Hohhot), Jilin Russian Language Institute (Changchun), and Inner Mongolia Minzu University (Tongliao).
Belarus and Kazakhstan: Recent years have seen a strengthening of ties with leading agricultural universities in Belarus and Kazakhstan, formalized through new cooperation agreements.
